Kamzík vrchovský tatranský
Kamzík žije vo všetkých častiach Tatier: Západné Tatry (Slovensko a Poľsko), Vysoké Tatry a Belianske Tatry. Tieto časti sú chránené národnými parkmi obidvoch krajín. V roku 2006 bol slovenský Tatranský národný park domovom pre 371 kamzíkov, z čoho bolo 72 jahniat. V poľskom Tatranskom národnom parku žilo 117 jedincov a z toho 27 jahniat.[4] V roku 2010 populácia vzrástla na 841 jedincov (z toho 74 jahniat), 699 (57 jahniat) na Slovensku a 142 (17 jahniat) v Poľsku. Tento počet sa priblížil k populačnému vrcholu z roku 1964, keď bolo v Tatrách viac ako 900 jedincov.
